What is Pressure Treated Lumber?

Pressure treated lumber is wood that is put into a chamber and pressurized with a preservative that penetrates into the cellular structure of the wood. This preservative provides protection against damage from water and moisture as well as rot, insects and fungus.
Pressure treated wood is often rated at a 20 year lifespan even when used in some very harsh conditions. It is rated or ground contact and may other uses including:

- Mailbox posts
- Decks and porches
- Picknic tables
- Landscape and landscaping timbers
